Ocoee playwright Kris Bauske is celebrating the recent success of her comedy/drama “Grandma’s Little Helper.”
The script took honors in the 12th annual Chameleon Theatre Circle’s New Play Festival for best full-length play. The play will receive a reading at the 2011 festival in Apple Valley, Minn., in September, and Bauske will travel to the festival to participate. The author received a certificate and financial award for the win.
“Grandma’s Little Helper” is about what transpires after a grandmother takes on a home health aide. The play touches on the themes of aging, family responsibility, morality and hypocrisy.
